I just wrapped up several days of advanced training at the AVCA Animal Chiropractic conference, and I wanted to share a few cool things I learned. Things every pet owner should know:
š¶ Dogs hide pain incredibly well.
By the time a dog limps, theyāre often already in moderate to severe discomfort. Subtle changesāhesitation on stairs, slowing down on walks, avoiding certain movementsāusually show up long before limping does.
š§ Fascia is more important than we ever realized.
Itās not just āwrappingā around the muscles. It carries nerves, blood flow, tension, and communication throughout the body. When fascia gets tight or restricted, it can mimic joint problems or even look like neurological issues.
š¾ The nervous system responds FAST to gentle input.
One of the coolest demonstrations: small, precise adjustments and soft-tissue work changed gait patterns within seconds. Dogs truly are wired to respond to the right kind of help.
If your dog has been slowing down, moving stiffly, or ājust not acting like themselves,ā these things may be trying to tell you something.
Always happy to help you understand what your petās body is saying. ā¤ļøš¾
